What makes you the Next Runway Star?
This is my life, and I live it as I want. With that being said, I feel like I have a certain courage about myself that shows other I’m not worried about their opinions about my looks or whatever the case may be, I’m simply here to enjoy myself and bring the energy needed to any situation. I can’t tell you the amount of hours I’ve racked up in my room or with my friends practicing our runway walk or even a full on dance choreography, you’ll never know when you’ll need it! I’m very much go with the flow, I think it’s silly to stress over every little action you make. Nobody can be happy that way. I want to show people that even if you came from little to nothing, you can become so big as long as you have the right motivation. What would this once in a lifetime experience mean to you and why?
It would mean the world to me by showing me that there is more then just my everyday life that can be achieved. To be able to say that I took a chance to do the unthinkable, and to hopefully inspire others to never stop wishing and dreaming. I mean, it’s ever girls dream to walk across a stage like such, but to be able to say that I Santana Maree Colon in-fact walked on a stage? I don’t think I’d ever be able to doubt myself again on any matter. Not only would it show me and other, but it would especially show my little sisters that their dreams can happen too.
What are you most proud of about yourself or what have you overcome and why?
Simply being able to understand that change is apart of life, and that not everything is for certain. Now don’t get me wrong I’ve definitely went through my fair share of struggles in my life. At some point I had reached rock bottom with my mental health and I was a completely different person. I was ugly within my actions and words. I was angry at the world. That’s no way to live. I’ve learned that even though things can get hard, I have to remember that I’m the only one living my own life, and I have to take control of it instead of taking me over. With this being my own life, I’ve learned to never let anybody belittle me. Whether people like it or not, I refuse to allow anybody to walk over me or make me feel like I’m less than what I am. Standing up for myself doesn’t make me difficult it just means I know my worth
What would you do with the $20,000 cash prize?
Honestly I’d probably put some of the money towards a car, I currently don’t have one so that kinda sucks. Then I would put some money aside for when I plan to move. Then I’d buy a plane ticket to go see my grandmother, and put the rest aside so I can put it towards school
