What makes you the Next Runway Star?
I am ready to take on a new and exciting time of my life and career. Clothes don't make the runway, the people wearing them do! The combination of presence, confidence, and the ability to command the moment make this opportunity attractive to me.
What would this once in a lifetime experience mean to you and why?
It represents a chance to have fun and hone a new skill! I've always loved fashion and have a deep appreciation for the energy and authenticity required to inspire an audience in real time!
What are you most proud of about yourself or what have you overcome and why?
I am the most proud of the mother I have become to my two daughters. Motherhood has taught me invaluable lessons through experience. I overcame generational poverty and have given my kids the best life I could have imagined for them. I live life through the eyes of my daughters, and I want to have a new experience I can share with them and inspire them with.
What would you do with the $20,000 cash prize?
I would take my daughters on a vacation to an elephant sanctuary for orphaned or injured elephants to care for and connect to these wise intelligent animals. I have a few in mind, but I am drawn to the Sheldrick wildlife trust in Kenya. They have never been to Africa before. I have always had an admiration for elephants in their sheer size. I imagine it to be humbling to stand next to a six ton creature and feel drawn towards connecting with all animals.
