What makes you the Next Runway Star?
What makes me the next Runway Star is that I'm unapologetically myself. At 21, I've learned that confidence isn't about being perfect—it's about owning everything that makes you different. As a transgender artist from Miami, music taught me how to use my voice, while fashion taught me how to express myself without saying a word. When I walk into a room, I want people to feel my presence before I even speak. I'm creative, determined, fearless, and hungry for opportunities that allow me to show what I'm capable of. I know what it's like to feel underestimated, and instead of letting that stop me, I use it as motivation. I'm not competing just to wear beautiful clothes or take beautiful pictures. I want to represent everyone who's ever felt like there wasn't a place for them. I don't want to fit into the fashion industry—I want to help expand what it can look like. That's what makes me the next Runway Star.
What would this once in a lifetime experience mean to you and why?
This opportunity means everything to me because it represents something I wasn't always sure was possible. I grew up facing challenges that could have easily defined my future. I was raised in poverty, watched my mom navigate life with a disability, and learned firsthand what it feels like to be judged for simply being myself as a transgender woman. Those experiences didn't break me—they built me. They taught me resilience, compassion, and the importance of creating opportunities instead of waiting for them. Every obstacle I've faced has pushed me to work harder and dream bigger. It isn't just about walking in New York Fashion Week. It's about showing that your circumstances don't determine your potential. It's about representing people who rarely see themselves reflected in fashion and proving that authenticity belongs on every stage. If given this opportunity, I'll carry my family's sacrifices, my community, and everyone who's ever been told they weren't enough with me on that runway
What are you most proud of about yourself or what have you overcome and why?
What I’m most proud of is the person I’ve become despite everything I’ve had to overcome. Growing up, I faced bullying, rejection, and the struggle of feeling accepted for who I truly was. As a transgender woman in a Caribbean household, I experienced the challenge of embracing my identity while navigating expectations and beliefs that didn’t always understand me. There were moments when I battled depression and questioned my worth, but I refused to let those struggles become my story. I’m proud that I found the courage to choose myself, even when it wasn’t easy. I learned to turn my pain into purpose, my struggles into strength, and my experiences into a reason to inspire others. Music and fashion became my outlets for self-expression and helped me find confidence in my own voice. Everything I’ve overcome has shaped me into the resilient, compassionate, and fearless person I am today. I carry my past as proof that I can survive difficult moments and still rise.
What would you do with the $20,000 cash prize?
If I won the $20,000 cash prize, I would use it as an investment into my future and the career I’ve worked so hard to build. I would put it toward developing myself as a model, artist, and entertainer by investing in professional opportunities, creative projects, training, branding, and the tools needed to continue growing. For me, this prize would be more than money—it would be a stepping stone. Coming from a background where opportunities weren’t always easy to access, having that support would allow me to create at a higher level and turn my dreams into something sustainable. I want to continue using my platform to inspire others who feel overlooked or underestimated. By investing in myself, I’m not only building my own career, but creating a path that shows others what’s possible when you believe in your talent and refuse to give up. This opportunity would help me keep creating, keep performing, and keep proving that your circumstances don’t have to limit your future.
