What makes you the Next Runway Star?
I am a walking public service announcement for authenticity as the key to health, wellness, and FUN!
What would this once in a lifetime experience mean to you and why?
Achieving the unexpected would be great, when it’s a GOOD thing. I have been determined and consistent in sticking to my principles. It has cost me, and yet my choices sit well with me. This experience would validate me and all the work I’ve done, both on the inside and on my outsides. I have overcome so many obstacles. Dyslexia(diagnosed VERY late, after medical school), childhood sexual abuse, breast cancer. This is just the tip of my human iceberg. Each time, I have coped with the tools available. When I was a child, it was with food. In most other predicaments, I assumed it was all my fault. That works nicely. Still learning and growing. This chapter in my life is for accepting the good and special things I have built. It is difficult for me to do that. I am so accustomed to damage control. So this is me at 70 and 3/4 years old, ER doctor, standup comedian, still in/between husbands. I am thrilled for the opportunity to share my experience in ways it can benefit others.
What are you most proud of about yourself or what have you overcome and why?
My words above pretty much describe those accomplishments. I am better somehow, personally and professionally, than ever. Odd and true. Well and I consider it a great accomplishment to be drinking blace coffee.
What would you do with the $20,000 cash prize?
Ha! First, marvel at money that was not gotten through some kind of torture. Then, well, I’d have to get back to you!
